Photovoltaic (PV) Solar can be an excellent technology to light up decorative displays off the grid. Bloor West Village has pioneered the use of PV Solar to provide electricity to decorative LED lighting in the trees which line the BIA. A total of 42 solar panels have been installed to light up 87 trees in the BIA reducing a total of 1.5kW.
greenTbiz will be analyzing this installation in terms of the business case and potential enery conservation to created a framework for possible PV Solar installtion in other BIAs.
